3 Hour Guided Kayak Nature Tour

By GAEA Guides, 1/2 hour tour of Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center and then 2 hour naturalist guided tour of The Great Calusa Blueway. The cost is $40 plus tax. Call (239) 694-5513 for reservations.

Awards & Grants

The Arts & Attraction Committee of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation has just awarded the Ostego Bay Marine Science Center a grant for the enhancement of the salt water aquarium area.

October through May: Winter hours
Wednesday - Friday, 10 a.m. -4 p.m.
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

 
Project Pod
The Ostego Bay Foundation has a new Research Director. His name is Nick Melosi and he is a recent undergraduate of South Illinois University - Carbondale in geology. He's raising funds for Project Pod by soliciting businesses and local organizations, grants, and/or sponsorships. The Foundation needs to upgrade or purchase much of the equipment for the project. Nick has recruited two new volunteers to help with the dolphin tracking. If you are interested in volunteering or donating/sponsorship to Project Pod, call or email the Foundation.
Loggerhead Turtle, Caretta caretta
The Loggerhead turtle is recognized by their reddish-brown carapace that is elongated and heart-shaped. They nest on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. The maximum length is four feet. Their nesting season is May - August.
