Welcome to the Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center located at 718 Fishermans Wharf on San Carlos Island in Fort Myers Beach. The Center provides a Marine Science Experience through interactive exhibits, aquariums, touch tank, collections and displays. Open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. seasonally. A donation of $5.00 per adult and $3.00 for children over 6 years of age is suggested.

Call for feeding times, it's an opportunity to see many of our reclusive marine specimens that come out of hiding for lunch. Touch a starfish, put your held in the mouth of a shark, see how sea turtles hatch, and more.

Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center's Three-Hour Guided Tour will begin Wednesday September 7, 2011 and continue each and every Wednesday morning form 9 a.m. until noon. The cost for the Tour is $15.00 per adult and $10.00 for children over 6 years of age. This includes a 1 1/2 hour guided visit at the Museum which contains a touch tank, a hands-on beach area and several aquariums and exhibits. The Tour continues with a visit to the commercial fishing industry, including Erickson & Jensen Supply House, Trico Shrimp loading dock and Beach Seafood. See how the boats are unloaded, the trawl doors are build, the shrimp nets are hand-sewn, the seafood is processed, and other important factors used in this unique million dollar industry; a memorable experience! OIL SPILL FIRST RESPONDER
Hazardous Material Technician Certification Class
  This 24 hour class satisfies OSHA 29 CFR 1910/120 and will be held at the Marine Science Center Training facility. Cost is $200 for members and $250 for non-members. The 8 hours re-certification class will be held on September 15th, $75 for members and $100 for non-members. For information or registration call (239) 765-8101
Florida Master Naturalist Uplands Ecosystems Certification Class
  This 40 hour educational extension program includes classroom instruction, field trips and practical interpretive experience related to the general ecology, habitats, vegetation types, wildlife, and conservation issues of Upland Systems in Florida. In addition, the program enhances naturalist interpretation skills and addresses environmental ethics. The cost of this class is $225 and is being offered by the University of Florida Institute of Florida and Agriculture Sciences and the Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center. Register at:
